Only two can keep a secret if one of them is dead.

It’s said that the only people who really know what goes on in a marriage are the couple themselves. But what if even they don’t know the truth?

David and Adele seem like the ideal pair. He’s a successful psychiatrist, she is his picture-perfect wife who adores him. But why is he so controlling? And why is she keeping things hidden?

Louise, David’s new secretary, is intrigued. But as Louise gets closer to each of them, instead of finding answers she uncovers more puzzling questions. The only thing that is crystal clear is that something in this marriage is very, very wrong. But Louise could never have guessed how wrong things really are and just how far someone might go to hide it.

I haven’t watched the Netflix movie yet but then I decided to read the book before watching the movie.

I thought it was going to be really good but then I realized…it was confusing and OK.

Louise kisses a handsome doctor named David she met at the bar. Louise is a single mother and is trying to move on with her life as her ex-husband seemed to move on. Louise then bumps in Adele, a beautiful woman who also happens to be the wife of David.

Let’s just say, the three characters get themselves entangled into each other’s lives, particularly Louise.

Hearing the reviews and having high expectations on the book, I hate to say this, I thought this wasn’t as great as I thought it should. The book is slow paced and it took almost the middle of the book for the climax to build in. There were too many revelations in the book and so I kind of knew that Adele (a little spoiler alert) is not as she seemed to be. All the characters in the book are highly unlikable and whom I didn’t have any sympathy at all. David is a cheater, Louise is naive and stupid (yup she really is) and Adele is smug and manipulative.

The ending…well, the ending was a WTH moment for me. I mean seriously that Ending??!?! That was the most weird and bizarre ending I have ever read.

Overall, this book is worth 2.5 stars. Even though I didn’t really like this book, I am looking forward to read more books from this author.
