Your son’s new girlfriend.
Your new worst enemy…?
My heart thuds as the front door swings open, and my precious son Seth walks in with his new girlfriend Lily on his arm. I’m so nervous. But she’s everything I hoped she’d be. Before long, she’s part of the family and staying every evening. We relax together and have long conversations. It’s a dream – Lily is like the daughter I never had.
But as our family dynamic shifts, the precious bond with my husband and son begins to change. I’m convinced they’re avoiding me and talking to me differently… Am I being paranoid, or is Lily turning my loved ones against me?
Then I receive a warning. It hints at a past I’ve tried so hard to erase. My carefully controlled world starts to unravel.
Is the secret I’ve tried so hard to bury about to destroy my perfect family?
And can I trust Lily? Or is my life and my son’s life in danger?
An utterly addictive psychological thriller that will have you gasping out loud. If you love None Of This Is True, John Marrs, T.M Logan and Freida McFadden you’ll be gripped by His First Girlfriend.

Jen and Todd has a son Seth who is off to the university. They seemed to be leading a happy family life until Seth starts dating a girl from the university–Lily. Lily is a computer science major. Jen’s computer gets hacked and Lily immediately helps Jen to restore her computer back. Soon, Jen starts to suspect that Lily has done something to her computer, including framing one of her colleagues from work and that Lily isn’t who she is. But Todd and Seth both believe that Jen is crazy.
This was a fast paced page turning thriller. There were twists and turns and the whole story can be read in one go. You have Jen, that as a reader you kind of sympathizes since no one actually believes her including her own family. Then of course we have a murder that happened nearly twenty years ago which may have some sort of connection with the overall story. The ending was actually great–the ending was completely unexpected and it felt as if the ending was WTH moment.
Overall, this book is highly recommended due to its twists and turns and worth five stars.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.
