A new heartwarming, exciting mystery series from USA Today Bestselling author Christy Barritt!
“Elliot is remarkable! I highly recommend the whole series!” ~Amazon reviewer
Missionary kid Elliot Ransom is restless after moving from her beloved Amazon home to a wealthy DC suburb. Though Storm River, Virginia, is beautiful, it’s also a playground for haughty politicians and wealthy playboys. She’s never felt so out of place.
Becoming an assistant to a hotshot private investigator changes everything . . .
Expecting to help with filing and background checks, Elliot is shocked when she’s catapulted into the frontlines of a murder investigation instead. While trying to prove their client innocent, she’s forced from the administrative role she usually plays. The change is surprisingly invigorating.
Learning the art of investigating shouldn’t be so dangerous . . . but this case just might be as dicey as the new town Elliot is living in. Could a little harmless eavesdropping lead to a big disaster?

I got to admit–Christian fiction books are now becoming one of my favorite genres! The first is Fifth Avenue Story Society which was actually really good! This is the second Christian fiction book I have read and is a part of a series, The Sidekick Survival Guide and is the first book of that series.
Elliot Ransom is a missionary kid who moves to Washington D.C. from her beloved home in a remote Amazon area. She gets a job as a personal assistant to Driscoll and Associate, whose boss, Oscar Driscoll is a renowned private investigator. Oscar then assigns her to investigate a well known golfer, who is their client and who has been accused of a murder which he denied committing. Along with Michael, who has been working for Elliot, she starts learning about investigating…
This book was really interesting–quite fast paced and unputdownable that I couldn’t wait to see what Elliot is going to do and what is going to happen next! Elliot is actually really a likable character–she is courageous, brave and is loyal, who will work hard to get money so she and her mother could pay for her sister’s lung transplant operation. There were some funny parts in the book as well but overall, I really enjoyed reading this book! The author did a good job hooking the reader into the story!
Overall, I rate this book five stars and looking forward to read the other books in that series. Elliot is quite a remarkable character!
