The plot line was good, though initially, it was bit boring in the beginning and also in the middle, with unnecessary story lines. However, towards the ending, it got very interesting and the ending was really good as well. I also like how the story was told from the perspectives of these three women, so we can know what they are really thinking and how each of them are dealing with Jonathan Wright.

I enjoyed this book but I would give this book only three stars!

Tilly Tennant was born in Dorset, England, the oldest of four children, but now lives in Staffordshire in the heart of England with a family of her own. Cathy is moaning at the death of her mother and the only way she remembers her is through her mother’s brilliant recipes which Cathy also uses. She gets an unexpected invitation from the church, she used to attend with her father many years ago for a coffee and so she decides at the last minute to attend the coffee. Before attending, she starts making some of her mother’s delicious recipes and takes the baked goods to church. At church, the group was in awe at her baking and insists she starts cookery classes at the church. Despite the initial hesitance, Cathy give in and starts the cookery classes and while doing the classes, she makes many new friends and also finds a bit of romance…

I have read The Waffle House on the Pier and the plot line is a bit similar–along with the death of her mother, she was also heartbroken when Jonas, her ex-boyfriend ends things with her long time ago and marries someone else. However, the story itself talks about friendship, as well as about community uniting together and also supporting each other. The descriptions of the cakes like banana loaf and fruit cake, made my mouth water and made me want to have one as well. The writing was good as the author did a good job, bringing the reader into the story. The story was actually fun to read, cozy and enjoyable with some comedic scenes in the book.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book–I should say, this book is a perfect one to read for Christmas. Worth four stars!

First of all…I really like the cover design! I am one of those people who actually buy a book based on the design–if the design of the cover looks colorful and beautiful, then I won’t hesitate to buy, though the chances of the story might be good might be less. But in this book, I have to say, I was not disappointed.

Sadie Schwartz’s grandparents had been running the Waffle House on the Sea Salt Bay for many years and she herself has spent too much time in the Waffle House. Sadie also hates her job as a teacher, wishing that she was back at the Sea Salt. Then her grandfather dies and her family wants to sell off the Waffle House. But Sadie was determined to keep the Waffle House and so she tries to make the place successful again, even though her grandmother seems to be forgetful at times…

This is the first time I have been reading from this author. I really like the plot line of the story, it’s cute, funny and cheesy. The writing was really good as well as the author manage to pull the reader into the story, though I should say the first few chapters were a bit boring at first. I also like her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Declan and how realistic her feelings towards him was though he was moving on with a new girlfriend, and I also like how she formed a relationship with the new man, Lucas. I really like the descriptions of those coastal areas and also the descriptions of the waffles and desserts made my mouth water! I also think Sadie’s relationship with her grandmother and also her brother is cute.

This is actually a cute cheesy summer romance read, quite enjoyable to read with some funny parts in the book. Really worth only four stars!

Francesca known as Fran has a secret crush on Charlie, with whom she studied in a boarding school. She meets Charlie at a tube station along with another classmate, Dixie, who had bullied Fran in school. However, Fran witness an accident that will change the life forever. The police labeled that as an accident, since Dixie was drunk but Fran later on believed that somebody had pushed him. Later on, she was wondering about the whereabouts of her younger sister Ellie and there was an incident that was involved in the school when Fran went to school…

To me, the first few chapters were a bit boring. It was a bit initially slow paced and not much thriller except the moaning of the death of Dixie and Fran recounting her feelings towards Charlie, who is married to a woman named Fiona. However, towards the middle and end, the story got interesting with some twists and turns along the way, the ending was unexpected.

The story was really good though it was slow at first and gradually the story got interesting with twists and turns. Worth four stars in my opinion.

This is the first time I am reading the book from this author and first time reading this series. This is actually the third book of the Jemima Huxley series but you don’t necessary need to read the last two books.

In 2019, Jemima Huxley gets a frantic call from Charlie Morgan, claiming, Violet Morgan had gone missing after spending a night with her colleagues from work. Six years ago, Jemima Huxley had been investigating a case of stalking when Violet complained that her next door neighbor, Bryon Toombes had been harassing her. The police failed to arrest Bryon as he had escaped. Now with time running out, Bryon must have returned back to seek revenge from Violet.

I really like the plot line of the story. The writing was good and the author did a good job making the reader hooked into the story. The thriller is a fast paced thriller with lots of action that will make you feel breathless at some parts. It was actually an interesting book with some twists and turns. However, the ending to me was a bit predictable to me.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book. Worth five stars!

Wes Aldrich is the possible heir to their family run business, Aldrich Pharmaceuticals. His father, Victor asks him to date Rosanna Farad, daughter of another business company, as their main aim is to merge the company with each other. Wes reluctantly agrees. Meanwhile, Annie gets a job as a bar and also got a piano so she can learn piano. She is also obsessed with a DJ named Falcon, who plays really cool DJ tunes at the nightclubs. Annie is determined to meet Falcon and also is determined to learn DJ tunes. What she didn’t know is this Falcon is actually Wes Aldrich, who has been looking after Annie since Annie’s brother died and he was actually having secret feelings towards Annie…

I really do enjoyed reading the story. The story was cheesy and funny at the same time. I really like the relationship between Annie and Wes as Wes is out protecting her, (after promising Annie’s brother Leo) and at the same time harbors secret feelings towards Annie and at the same time, he wanted the merger to go well with Rosanna Farad. Annie meanwhile considers Wes as annoying, having a scrapbook of his pictures. I thought those two characters, Annie and Wes were cute with each other, and I was really glad that they ended up with each other. The writing was good, flowing and the author did a good job, hooking the reader into the story. Though I am not much of a romantic genre fan, this book actually intrigued me. I also like the ending, particularly the epilogue part!

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book–a cozy, warm and funny romantic story that you wouldn’t really want to put it down–worth five stars!

This is the second book I have read from this author, the first The Sunset Sisters (which I have written a book review on this blog) . This is the second book of the Sisterhood Series, though this book has no connection with the first book.

This is the second book, I have read from this author, Cecelia Lyra, the first book, The Sunset Sisters. This is also the second book of the Sisterhood Series, though this book has no connection with the first book whatsoever.

Gina Dewar is happily married for fifteen years to Bobby Dewar, who is the CEO of the family run business, Alma Boots. But then soon a scandal, involving a woman named Eva Stone who accuses Bobby Dewar of sexual advances soon tests their marriage and threatens their marriage. The story is an emotional roller coaster ride of how Gina is dealing with the situation–she trusts her husband and is ready to forgive him but at the same time has mixed feelings about it.

Just like in her previous books, the writing was flowing and was intriguing with each chapter some sort of unexpected twist you will never expect. The story itself sounds realistic as well and I like how the author has made the story as realistic as possible. The emotions and feelings that each of the characters are feeling is also realistic. The ending to me was really good. But for me, I feel this book is a bit better than her first book.

Overall, this is an emotional family drama, worth reading and worth five stars in my opinion!

Scarlett’s life seems to be perfect in every way with a one year old daughter Poppy. But when she returns back to work, after the maternal leave, a video of hers was leaked out and was emailed to nearly all of her colleagues and nearly every one of her family members. But the three women, who are in Scarlett’s baby group, Emma, Cora and Asha had not received the video. Who had sent the video and who do you actually trust?

The plot line to me sounds so intriguing to me–Scarlett is living a good life but a video of her past threatens to destroy her new life. Indirectly, we know that one of the mothers is involved in this incident, nearly out to destroy the life of Scarlett. The book is realistic in some ways as sometimes, friends can end up being the enemies and truth to be told, there is no one in the world that you can actually trust. That is what Scarlett’s life was like–she considered the three mothers, Emma and Cora and Asha as her friends but one of them betrayed her. Scarlett’s own married life seems to be in tatters as her husband, Ed seems to have become distant from her. The writing was good and it actually draws the reader into the story. The ending was a bit unexpected and I like some of the twists and turns that are found later in the book.

Overall, this book talks about betrayal in friendship and marriage–a good thriller and also a bit emotional. Worth three stars!

Cath who is an aspiring novelist was invited for the “Event” organized by one of her idols and a popular internet star, Irene Jobart along with other bloggers, Dan, a yoga instructor, Jules and Nathan. The Event is organized an abandoned monastery in a village of Romania. However, the abandoned monastery has a dark history–the nuns in the monastery were found brutally murdered somewhere in 1946 and the rumor was that the monastery was haunted. And there are wolves around the area especially a particular white colored wolf. When Cath moved in, her pills went missing and soon, eerie things started happening around the monastery…

This is the first book I have read from this author. I was really hooked into the story. Ghost thrillers really intrigue me. A somewhat unreliable narrator but still, I kept reading the book, wanting more. There were twists and turns towards the end, and an unexpected end. The ghost story of the monastery really intrigued me and I was so hooked into the story. I like how the friendship developed between Jules and Cath and at the same time how each of the characters started distrusting each other, particularly towards Irene. The writing was good and the author did a good job keeping the reader at the edge! Reading the dark ghost parts of the story really kept me on the edge and left my heart beating! And also, this is a fast paced thriller so it was good and there were OMG moments in the book.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading the story. A fast paced thriller that will keep you read all night, wanting to know more and might even scare you a bit! Worth five stars!

The story is told from the perspectives of both Megan and Nina–each dividing between the present day and some twenty three years earlier to two years earlier leading to the time when Nina locks her mother up in the attic as a punishment for something Megan had done. The story itself was intriguing from the start–as a reader you would wonder why Nina hates her mother and why Megan is locked up with the chain strapped on her ankles. Towards the middle and end, the story starts developing with unexpected twists and turns and that will keep the reader hooked into the story. The build up of this thriller is somewhat medium pace–the climax of the story was gradually increasing so it is not really a fast paced thriller in my opinion. The ending was somewhat a bit unexpected– I didn’t expect that type of ending. The writing was good and the author did a good job making the reader want to know more about the story.

I really enjoyed reading this book though it’s not really one of the best thrillers I have read. Still, it was good for me. Worth four stars!
